Sounds are measured in decibels (dBs). An STC rating is assigned to a w window or door to designate it’s capacity to block sound. Simply put, the higher the decibel the higher the STC rating needed. Typical windows have STC ratings in the 25-28 range. By comparison, Silent Guard® products have STC ratings starting at 32 and going as high as 48 – an industry leading performance* mark.
